Academies

The life skills and values that our academies provide are invaluable.

Providing all-round support.

We strive to give any child born into poverty an opportunity. We concentrate our efforts in 3 areas.

  • At the Buffalo Foundation, we are passionate about transforming the lives of children through education. We ensure that children receive the support they require to excel in their studies. Education extends beyond textbooks and exams. We believe in nurturing the whole child. By providing extracurricular activities, life skills training, and mental health support, we equip children with the tools to navigate life's challenges and become well-rounded individuals.

We strive to make a lasting impact on the lives of children, empowering them to become lifelong learners and contributors to society.

We are dedicated to making a real and lasting difference in children's education. Through our commitment to breaking barriers, providing personalised support, fostering holistic development, empowering communities, and creating long-term impact, we strive to transform the lives of children and empower them to reach their full potential.

We provide educational facilities and staff in the form of after school clubs and homework assistance. This aims to enhance and expand upon the existing school curriculum, which is often lacking in the most impoverished communities.

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”

    – Nelson Mandela

  • At the Buffalo Foundation, we believe that sports can be a powerful tool for transforming the lives of children, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds. Regular participation in sports promotes physical fitness, enhances coordination, and improves overall health. For children from low-income families, who may not have access to recreational facilities or organised sports, our organisation provides a vital outlet for physical activity.

Engaging in sports also contributes to mental well-being, fostering self-confidence, stress reduction, and improved social connections. By providing sports opportunities, we support children in their academic journey, helping them develop discipline, time management skills, and a sense of responsibility towards their education. Sports have the power to bring communities together. For talented young athletes, sports can open doors to scholarships, higher education, and even professional careers.

Through our organisation, we identify and nurture promising talent, providing them with specialised training, mentorship, and exposure to opportunities that may have otherwise been out of reach. We firmly believe in the transformative power of sports for children, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds. We support ‘Sports Academies’ that bring sporting opportunities to disadvantaged communities

“Sport is not just about entertainment. It is equally about winning and losing, pooling and galvanising the energy of the youth, upgrading people’s physical fitness and mental prowess.”

    – Nita Ambani

  • At the Buffalo Foundation, we are dedicated to empowering youth from disadvantaged backgrounds by providing them with the skills, resources, and opportunities necessary to thrive in the workforce. We firmly believe that every young person deserves a fair chance at a successful career, regardless of their socioeconomic status. Many underprivileged youth lack access to professional networks and guidance. By empowering underprivileged youth with employment opportunities, we break the cycle of poverty.

Meaningful employment not only provides financial stability but also fosters a sense of purpose, self-worth, and independence. We try to actively nurture talent to ensure they have opportunities to excel in their chosen field. By providing experience we can help those in disadvantaged communities become self-sufficient.

“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”

    – Eleanor Roosevelt

The Buffalo Foundation has supported Songezo Cycling Academy since 2018 and has grown ever since. The Academy operated out of a container in 2015 using it as storage for bicycles to now having a fully functional classroom and club house enough to accommodate 50 bicycles.

Kwano Cycling Academy faces unique challenges in meeting the diverse needs of their students. The Buffalo Foundation works closely with the Academy to develop tailored solutions that address these challenges and create a positive impact.

The Buffalo Foundation tries to always be there for the children in the services that we offer, in need of contact and support. Bonga Cycling Academy is a social development program that provides sport (cycling) and recreational activities to children.
